When I received a message in September from a couple looking for a Superman, comic book and Red Sox themed newborn session for their baby due in December I knew that the expecting parents I’d be meeting were going to be incredibly awesome! It’s not everyday that I get a request for a themed newborn session, and this family had a fun list of special items and setups. They totally had me at the idea of Superman newborn photos!
I met with J&A in September to discuss their newborn session and get an idea of everything they wanted it to be. I was excited to work with them to make their little guy’s first photo shoot exactly what they dreamed of!
In the time between our meeting and Baby Clark Kent’s arrival we prepared props and outfits, I ran through the setups several times and made a shot list to make sure we’d be able to get every photo we wanted while keeping Clark happy and content. Little did I know that Clark would be the sleepiest most content newborn to ever enter my studio!
I’m pretty sure that Clark didn’t want his parents trying to fit his newborn session in around the holidays, he’s a very considerate young man. He made his arrival a few weeks ahead of schedule and came to see me at 9 days old. Speaking of considerate, I don’t think I even saw Clark’s eyes the entire time we were together. With all the setups we wanted to accomplish I planned a longer than normal session and it ended up being my shortest newborn session to date. We went from pose to pose and outfit to outfit with hardly a peep from Clark! See, I told you- this little guy was super sweet.
J&A are huge comic book fans so we planned Superman newborn photos, as well as photos with Dad’s comic books, and some with Clark’s little lovies. I’m pretty sure this is the cutest superhero ever!
We may be in Rockies territory, but Clark’s parents are Red Sox fans all the way.
To finish Clark’s newborn photos we added in a couple of special items including a Steamboat Mickey and a teddy bear that his dad gave his mom many years ago. We also included an adorable R2D2 hat. Thank-you so much to J&A for trusting me to make your newborn session everything you wanted it to be! It will forever be one of my absolute favorites!
