My Three Favorite Colors for Newborn Girls

There’s certain colors that become synonymous with certain session types. Spring sessions usually feature a lot of pastels, newborn boys often get a lot of grey and brown, and newborn girls often get a lot of pink and purple.

Sometimes though it’s nice to do something a little bit different. When mamas give me free choice of colors for their baby girls I love to mix things up. Going non-traditional  lets us incorporate a little bit of the unexpected.

My three favorite non-traditional colors for newborn girls are: blue, grey, and green.

I know that soft pastels, pinks, and purples will always be the go-to colors for newborn girls but I’m glad to get to switch things up sometimes!

Rock and Roll Cake Smash

I first met Mr. Easton when he was just a tiny little newborn. A year later his mama got in touch again to schedule a cake smash for his first birthday.

We decided on the Rock and Roll theme and it was absolutely perfect for Easton. His mama brought in the most adorable outfit, with a vest and hat that totally tied the whole theme together. I was surprised that Easton kept his hat on for most of the session! Most babies end up taking their hats of quickly and then fighting to keep them off the rest of the session. Easton was totally chill with his though!

Easton made a huge mess with the cake, and then splashed all over in the bathtub. His rock and roll cake smash was a huge success!
