Pueblo Maternity Photographer | Darlene

Darlene came to me in the early fall to begin planning her maternity portraits. As part of the planning process I asked her what colors she loves or feels prettiest in and she told me that she loved both dark teal and lavender. For Darlene’s session I ordered two new gowns to add to the studio maternity wardrobe (available for use during any maternity session), one in each of her favorite colors.

We did the first part of Darlene’s maternity session outdoors at the Nature Center in Pueblo. It was freezing cold, raining just a bit, and overcast. When I pulled into the parking lot I was afraid that the session was going to be a bust, but Darlene and her husband were brave and ready to go anyway! We stayed as close to the parking lot as possible because we wanted to keep mama as warm and comfortable as possible. The last bits of fall color gave us a great backdrop and really paired nicely with the dark teal gown we decided to use outdoors.

The second portion of Darlene’s maternity session was held in the studio a few weeks later. She chose to wear the lavender dress and a deep red gown as well.

A few weeks after her maternity session Darlene delivered a sweet little guy named Maxx. His newborn photos will be featured in a future blog post. Thank-you Darlene for choosing me to do your maternity photos!

If you’re looking for a maternity photographer but aren’t quite sure about doing a session I want to reassure you. As a Pueblo maternity photographer a big part of my job is helping pregnant moms feel absolutely gorgeous. This is such a special time in a woman’s life, as her body changes and prepares to welcome a new life into the world.

After having three children of my own I can tell you honestly that I did not feel beautiful when I was pregnant. I never took on the pregnant glow, I was tired and sore and I just wanted to be done. Many of my clients come in feeling the same way, but still wanting to capture this stage of life. I understand because I’ve been there, and I want to help you love your maternity portraits. We’ll work together to create beautiful memories.
