My family is full of Harry Potter fans! I began reading the books in high school, my little sisters starting reading them in middle school and we all anxiously anticipated each release. Now, twenty years after Harry Potter first found his way into our hearts my own children are experiencing the magical world for themselves.
During my youngest sister’s pregnancy we talked about doing Harry Potter themed newborn photos for her little boy. He arrived a couple of weeks ago and we finally got our chance!
The first setup was little Evan all tucked in with the Harry Potter characters. We wrapped him in black and added a Gryffindor scarf that I found on Etsy. He looked so cute and sweet! The Hermione, Ron, Harry, Draco, Dobby, and Hedwig plush characters have been sitting in my studio just waiting for the right moment to use them and it turned out so perfect.
For the second set, I brought in a variety of Harry Potter themed props. We also included all seven books, an illustrated childrens’ edition, a sorting hat and the Gryffindor scarf. I absolutely love how this set came together, and Evan was on his best behavior while we took his photos in it.
These Harry Potter themed newborn photos were so much fun for me! I’m excited to get to share the love of Harry Potter with my sweet nephew just as I have with my own kiddos.
